I use one. If you use it correctly then you will have no issues, if you apply to much pressure or don't shake the debris out after each use and store it in the holder then you will have issues.

I use it on my opticoated BRZ. No issues. Very light touch and only for dusting. Don't use or expect it to work for cleaning of any kind. I'm very particular about my paint and haven't had any issues. Probably thanks to the opti being harder than the original.

My wife's mustang has one in the trunk too but I only use it once or twice a a month in the summer as her car is black and just terrible to maintain. I've yet to opti it. Still no swirls even on the black.

Don't mind occasional dust throughout the year but in the spring I can't stand when my black car looks green from all the pollen. Would this duster easily grab pollen off the paint like it would with dust or am I better off just doing a rinseless wash?

Btw my car is opticoated.
