Winterizing my BRZ
 

Portland in the fall and winter means a lot of rain and a ton of wet leaves. I've decided to prep my car for the winter.

• Wash the Car throughly
• Decontaminate the car
• Wax
• Rain-X all windows
• Deep clean Interior

Anyone have additional ideas or suggestions for getting the car as resilient as possible for driving in the cold, rain, and muck? I plan to garage it at least until all these are done, after that, no guarantees.

Saran wrap it. All of it.

Maybe before you wax the car apply a polishing compound to prep it even ore to accept the wax finish :-)

i would get some JETSEAL109 from Chemical Guys… get it today because the 20% off SEMA Sale is over … its AMAZING !!

plastidip the entire car!! I think that would be the best long-run solution for winter.

That's the idea behind the "Decontaminate" it basically acts as a primer for the wax and I'll be doing that today :)

car cover and leave it at that?

I was thinking decontaminate via clay bar. I say hand polish it to put back some of those precious oils back into the paint, then wax/seal it for the winter :-)

Thanks for the tip, I finished the wax job today and I used Nanoskin Hyrophobic along with some other Nanoskin products (Shock, Auto Scrubber, ect.)

Should I bother waxing it for winter if I already have Opti-Coat done?
