Shift Knob stuck! Won't loosen up! HELP Please!

Hey guys!

I really need your help or advice. I have an aftermarket shift knob for my BRZ. I have multiple shift knobs so I change every so often but for some reason, this time my shift knob won't even loosen up. It feels like it's overtightened. I can't move it at all no matter what I used. I sprayed some WD40 to try and see if it loosens up but that didn't work either. Any help guys? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Lift for a few months.

Try again.

Wrap a rag around it and twist it off with a vice grip.

Don't do that. you will fuck up the knob.

Go buy a strap wrench to get it off

Take a blow dryer and heat up the shift knob slightly until it threads off

Sit on it. Twist and shout

I should have been more specific. A thick terry-cloth or cotton t-shirt, folded-over several times is necessary. A large "lobster claw" vice-grip is my favorite, as they put pressure on both sides of a round object. Common sense is also required. Experience helps. I know that this works 99% of the time because I am a career machinist and metal fabricator. I deal with delicate anodized aluminum parts on a daily basis. Strap wrenches are fine also, but my experience with them is that they can abrade anodizing if they slip.

Ahhh, good idea! I'll try that soon also. Thank you so much!

Man, why do people have to be so mean when someone is just trying to ask for help? Sighhh. Thanks to all who gave me good ideas to try. Appreciate it.
