foot well lighting activated by parking light/headlight

has anyone wired their foot well lights to the parking lights/headlights ? if so what wires do you tap into... or do you have to go all the way and connect it to the stalk. I would imagine there are some wires underneath the drivers side dash to connect to...

When I did this in my tacoma I tapped the wire at the LED by the gear shift. Since that light came on with my parking and headlights, it would also power the footwell and cupholder lights as well. I had originally tried to tap into the overhead dome light so they would come on with the doors as well but that was a failed attempt. Since the dome light used two grounds it was very confusing to wire.

If you have a manual and don't have those indicator lights, you could always tap into the wire behind the headunit. I believe it's the orange wire but don't quote me on that.

shouldnt be too hard wire it to a fuse tap. just have to figure out what fuse is for headlights, personally when i have wired them is i use the 12v plug behind the glovebox so u have power on when the car is on but you could fuse tap a switch to trip when the lights come on.

does anyone have a picture of how bright the factory ones really are, i have been making my own and i want to see how well the do, how visible are they during the day

so the oem ones from subaru are like 160.
went to autozone picked up these strips for 20 bucks. there's a purple wire that connects to the hu (for bespoke) that is connected to the headlights switch that dims it, i tapped into that and bam.

Any pics on how you mounted the lights? I think I want to do this mod soon.

I can pull out the radio again tomorrow and I'll post pics.
But basically, theres four or so plastic connectors with a bunch of wires (For bespoke) and the one on the far left there's a purple wire that dims the radio when the headlights are on. I shaved the insulation off it and wired the positives to it. I checked by turning the car on and turning the lights on and whatnot..
for the ground there's some random holes in the frame behind it, I got a terminal and bolted it to it.

I can wire them I'm asking how you physically mounted them to the car/dash? I heard the brzs come with optional footwell lighting so I didn't know if there was a place already there that the light bars would fit

Ah did not see those. I like. Will they support being wired into the dome light with the fade effect?
