Circuit Motorsports SEMA 2013 Coverage

Well day one is on the books. We started early today and we are still editing video and pictures. so we will have lots more updates to come this week and this weekend after the show.

We were in the New products and New Companies halls today, so we checked out quite a few new products. We also ventured outside and checked out the "Show-car Parade" and watched a bit of Gymkhana drifting.

Some of the noteworthy new items we saw today were some sweet FR-S/BRS carbon fiber parts, for both the interior and exterior. Saw some other really cool stuff we'll be following up on tomorrow.

We talked to the AP racing guys about the FRS/BRZ brake kits, some of the differences between the endurance and sprint kits and their advantages. That video will be up shortly.

We'll be updating this post, our Facebook and our blog with tons of pics and more videos this week so stay tuned!

For now we will leave you with this day 1 Montage. Enjoy!

We did an interview with Daniel of Essex Parts talking about the new AP Racing Sprint and Endurance kits for the BRZ and FR-S. We went over some of the advantages of the kits vs. the stock setup and the differences between the two AP kits. We also get a little more technical discussing the advantages of their 2-piece floating rotor design on the Endurance kit.

Enjoy guys!

So a Floating rotor tends to be more noise in terms of driveability compared to fixed. In terms of benefits of a floating rotor though, is it just better cooling if it's floating?

Circuit Motorsports 11-07-2013 12:30 AM

Right. A "floating" rotor will handle heat a bit better. but in reality, the fixed 2-piece rotor will be so much better at handling heat than a stock one piece rotor I wouldn't worry about it unless you are seriously working your card hard at the track.
