AirLift Performance - Video

1 Attachment(s)
http://www.airliftperformance.com/airvscoilover/

Video comparison between Air Suspension and Coilovers.

They had 3 cars(Mustang, BRZ, R32). Three different test(200ft skidpad, 100ft slalom, 2.3 mile road course). Results are pretty interesting, but I wish they gave us what coilovers were used on each car.

Update 11/11/13: So, apparently they are running V3's?

Kinda ruins the whole thing...

I was there the day they were performing the testing although I didn't inquire about what coilovers they were comparing the AirLift suspension to. While they were doing their thing, the shop I was working for at the time, were learning the track preparing for One Lap of America.

without knowing what kind of coils and settings it would have been more valuable if they had they compared to stock

Enraged21 11-09-2013 01:36 PM

the BRZ was using Stance Coilovers

I still find it hard to believe that air could be better than coilovers. I'd be scared to drive my car hard if I had an air suspension. It would always be in the back of my head that the bag would pop. I have a friend on bags on this z33 and his bags popped twice the last two months. And he barely drives it hard.

For what the air kit costs ($3400 for the manual kit), they should be comparing to Ohlins or something pretty close to it.

interesting results, wish they would have compared it to equal value coilovers

Don't think air would be able to compete with the performance Ohlins provide

So, they compared their system to hard parking coils that probably pull worse times than stock.

Awesome.

Now, I am not saying this video is bias, but for some reason when a company compares its product to the competitions the results may not be truthful. Plus for 3K you can get some really really good coilovers.

Now I am not saying that. . . but I totally am. :D

Yeah $3.5K air suspension vs $800 coilovers = not a fair comparison. Put them against some Ohlins R&T or Tein SRC's or KW clubsports then we will see which is superior.
