Black is always nice, but doesn't show well in the dark.

I'm planning on doing the same but debating on matte or gloss, whichever looks better with the 10 series color.. IMO gunmetal looks great with any exterior color, either way it's not permanent so go for it!!

Looks great. Any tips on how to get a nice, even finish?

That's awesome, think if you did a couple coats of black under it would darken them a bit more? I love that but I'd like them slightly darker.

Just do it on a sunny day so it dries faster and spray light even coats. You can't rush it. It's fairly simple and even if you do mess up, with this color, it is very hard to tell. I didn't use any base coats with this.

A black base coat underneath would possibly darken it, but some colors react badly to base coats. Like the blue plasti dip is too dark, so I tried putting a white base coat underneath on something and it ended up looking like an ashy blue, it didn't look good at all. the beauty of plasti dip is you can experiment as much as you want! Try as many things as you like. You could order plasti dip from http://www.sspperformance.com/ and they even have kits to do the whole car. You can also give them a call and they'll tell you which colors work with which. They also make custom colors, like their blurple gtr!

Sweet, thanks. I didn't even think of the possibility of there being some sort of negative reaction between different colors.

Dipyourcar just released new metalizers in different colors as well as a video with the products
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Je9egvuceo"]Plasti Dip Color Metalizers - Violet, Red, Blue and Green - YouTube[/ame]
The blue metalizer might pop really nicely and has a bit of gloss in the product itself so, no need for gloss. There is so much you can do with plastidip, I say go nuts!
