500 BRZ units a month for US says Subaru

Article in the San Diego Union-Times yesterday:

Official US Subaru statements about ongoing deliveries. The key quote:
Quote:

Subaru's BRZ sport coupe goes on sale April 20, but only about 500 units will be available each month for the U.S. market.

That means that some of Subaru's 620 U.S. dealers won't have a BRZ at launch and most will get only one car a month.

It is unlikely the United States will receive more than about 6,000 of the rear-wheel-drive coupes a year even in a full-year of production, said Michael McHale, Subaru of America's director of corporate communications.
Discuss.

This is old news, and it says 500/month.

Too early in the day...fixed.

Checked those threads above. What's new here is official "confirmation" from Subaru US, of what were unconfirmed reports, and the fact that production will continue to be limited in out years. And this info is more recent, indicating no changes in US supply despite apparent high global demand.

On the topic having been discussed to death already - that's never stopped FT86ers before! :D

This is literally word for word copied from that article (from April 2nd). Must've been a slow news day.

It is all about marketing and perception. Other car makers do the same. In the end they will build all that they can sell...

Yup - just a syndication of the original Autonews article, same author.
