Drift-Office : AVO Turbo Stage 1.5 @ 8 PSI & Tomei 3 Inch Exhaust...

So it's been awhile since I had anything interesting to post in regards to the AVO kits. After all, it's all pretty typical, with results are consistently between 250 - 260WHP and proven reliability; of the 12 production kits that we did (not including Paul's #1 pre-production,) all of the cars we've installed this kit on and tuned are still on the road and have ZERO issues. If memory serves me right, Paul's car completed over a year ago this week has about 20k miles, and mine has some 15k in the last 5+ months. @BRZranger who was the recipient of the first AVO production kit for the first AT BRZ is still running strong and really, there's not much more to add.

Yeah right.

So we recently had a Canadian customer who commissioned us to install said kit on his car. Together with the package, he opted for the recommended AVO front pipe and over pipe. I've noted here and elsewhere that installation would be hassle-free and fitment, guaranteed. Customer also ordered one of the new Tomei Ti exhausts that was shipped directly to my facility.

When the box came via UPS, I was a little in disbelief. I picked it up thinking that he was shorted or something. After all, there's no way an either 3 inch exhaust system would fit in that smallish box, much less weigh as little as it did... or so I thought!

Here are some pics...

I'm not a big fan of single tips and aside from the gaping hole on the other side of the bumper, this thing is in dire need of a diffuser STAT! Anyway, we got to tuning the car with the exhaust on and...

The first run (BLUE) shown is his canned V-Tuned calibration. Nothing special, moving on... This 2nd run (RED) is right off our newest E-Tune for the AVO Stage 1.5 base calibration with a minor tweek! 15 more PEAK HP from just an extra half-inch? 8 PSI? (.5 BAR) Better believe it! The old adage "size does matter" comes into mind right about now...

Enjoy your weekend all! Cheers!

If you bumped up the PSI(10-12) you think he would see 300?

& damn that early boost!

Makes it so much more tempting to get a single exit!

This is all on 92. For our FI 91 Octane e-tunes, there's a specific combination that I will only do calibrations for. PM me for more details...

Already done : 300WHP @ 10.7 PSI (92 Octane)

But yeah, the spool on the standard AVO kits for the 6MT hits peak spool @ around 3500 RPM. The 6AT hits it at about 3200 since it's sort of preloaded. That's one of many selling points of the AVO kit - response, efficiency and performance, unlike many of the current offerings out there.

Having a 3 incher would certainly make it easier to get to 300 and with less boost if I might add! :) The only limitation now would be clutch and fuel...

Given that it's FI, the turbo 'muffles' the sound quite a bit. Still it's really nice even for an uncatted system. Now if it was all NA uncatted, that's a different story! :)

So it makes power from 3500 to about 6800 rpm? Is that correct? Would love to own this kit.
