Who has painted stock rims silver?

Has anyone painted/dipped the OEM rims silver, particularly on a black 86? I'm not a huge fan of the two tone rim on a black car, and definitely not a fan of matte black rims on a black car.

I've only seen one car thusfar on these forums who painted the stockers silver, but that was on a firestorm, and it looks soo much better in my opinion. (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38861)

Here's a pic from that build thread:

If nobody has done this, can somebody with photoshop skills make a photoshop of this on a CBS for me?

:thanks:

I think this may definitely be something I'll have to try on my CBS.

I really wish they came like this from the factory. I don't like the thought of painting rims (chipping, upkeep, etc.), so I'll stick with my stock wheels but I do really like all of these examples.

Yes, I wish my wheels were silver on my raven. That firestorm looks especially nice.

I love the 2-tones, hides brake dust until I get ceramic pads.

Holy cow. Those looks great! Now if it was just a little lower offset to get rid of that sunken wheel syndrome, I'm not sure if I would even buy wheels!

The stock wheels look exponentially better when you do away with the two-tone scheme. I noticed the same thing when I dipped mine white-- suddenly you can see the spokes!

Will aircraft cleaner take off the painted parts of our wheel (likely along with the clear coat as well)? I've stripped other painted wheels before, but not sure if our "painted" part is powder-coated and just needs to be painted over completely?

Looks good. Have you got anymore shots? I have a Hot Lava and have been thinking of doing something different with the wheels. Painting them sure would save some bucks.

I would love to see this on a wrb brz if anyone has done it
