HKS vs. JDL header...

Just trying to get some more infomation fom anyone that has owned or is currently using one of these. What does performance increase to on stock exhaust? Any significant increase in hp and/tq? Etc...

I own the JDL header. Just installed it last night. I can feel the power delivery increase but my car is tuned. I wanted the subaru rumble which is the main reason why I went with it and the quality is outrageous. It took a long time to get, but it was absolutely worth it.

Drift office said they were going to post a comparison between the HKS 4-2-1 and JDL UEL, and the other UELs soon. Maybe shoot them a PM or call them.

sent from my locker... help!

If you're looking for numbers, then yes, either HKS or JDL will get you a bump in power. It brings up torque in the dreaded torque valley range and an increase globally in power IF you get a tune for it. Otherwise, it won't do much for you on it's own if it's just installed.

A quick search... presto!
I will saw however that while the JDLs are UELs, they're the best performing one we've seen so far... Sounds great too! Note that the JDL results were based off a 100% stock car with a stock exhaust system.

Actually, it was a comparison of the 3 UELs and the HKS / T1R in a separate discussion after I get a 3rd EL to compare it with. But thanks though! :)

Would love to see how the T1R performs with a tune

Only reason I'm in favor of JDL is the SOUND. It's glorious and I've already lost .5 MPG in my first day of driving with it. Sounds like a completely different car in an awesome way. I am tuned but I haven't revised my tune for the header yet. It certainly feels more powerful and pulls harder with the header on. I'll get it to the dyno once I get my tune dialed in.

The JDL is a beast of a header. I've got two resonators and a catted front pipe as well. It's pretty loud even on the 2.5" Nameless setup too. Wakes up the Perrin resonated system as well.
