Looks like the 5 axis spoiler, anyone try one of these? I imagine you get what you pay for (fittment etc) but my curiosity and cheapness is getting the better of me. I don't care if it's a replica as long as it fits well and stays on.

Really? $75 and free shipping, I figure I could get a local shop to paint it for $150, that's around $225 - figure's I've seen for authentic painted 5 AD spoiler shipped are around $420 - if you can find me a painted 5 AD spoiler in the $250+/- range I'd be very grateful :cheers:

$150+$75 is a good price. So I think it is worth to be tried.

I saw a thread on here recently where someone had bought this spoiler and it came with a hole in the spoiler (OP assumed it was damaged during shipping) and the seller only refunded half the money because they wouldn't take back a damaged spoiler.
If you want to take the chance, I say go for it, but do know that could happen to you with an ebay seller.

I just ordered something exactly like this. I spent $50 on paint that matches the exterior, some primer, and good clear coat. I will post the results. That said, I've never worked on body parts before, why not save some money and learn in the process, how hard can it be?

I was thinking the same thing - I found something online that is related, and may provide some helpful hints into refinishing a raw molded plastic part like this.

I know, I was just referring to Top Gear where they always say that on their builds. In all honesty, I think it's ALL about prep work, and having just fixed up some ugly/banged up rims I feel like I'm prepared to handle this. I'm going to sand it, do some thick primer, then several coats with a nice clear on top. Should be a fun project, and I have way more fun doing projects like this than ordering a part and just slapping it on. Plus it's way cheaper. I'll be the test car on this and see how it goes.

Or if you don't want to paint you could wrap it in carbon fiber or something? Just a thought :p

According to that doc I read - you're right. It's all about getting it cleaned and prepped properly for the paint adherence. Where did you purchase yours from?

For sure. I honestly think it will look just as good as any expensive spoiler out there, plus I will feel good knowing that I was able to do this all myself for a bit over $100.
