I understand @yomny when people keep giving irrelevant answers. He was just to try to find out if cusco set up is effective even if it is not as effective as OEM set up, but some people just kept answering "their set up is better" kind of answer which he seems already know.

Glad someone understands.. In my case due to the placement of my oil return line I can't use the coolant line route of the OEM setup, which ideally I would rather use since it gets the oil up to temp faster but I can only opt for either cusco or air coolers which only really help when the car is moving and since I mostly do city driving, its not ideal. :) (thought to self: then again the oil wouldn't get too hot unless I'm running the car hard=cool air coming in) So the Cusco doesn't have a thermostat in the adapter, it starts to cool when the cars coolant thermostat opens? |

And sorry if my post upset you. Just trying to make sure everyone understands it doesn't matter where you live, the OEM setup will get oil up to operating temps faster and thats a good thing! |

Sorry if this is a repost I didn't go through all 23 pages on this thread to find it but do you think this alternative shown at this DIY thread is basically the same performance?. This seems to be much much simpler. The only thing that seems a little weird is the use of 1/2" hoses to go onto 3/8" barb of the throttle body. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73684
Edit: Sorry nevermind I found out it is essentially the same. |
Is this right??

Is the little nub on the bottom of the oil cooler suppose to be there or does have to be removed? I didn't see it on the oil cooler in any of the pictures here. Thanks |

That nub is supposed to be there, it aligns the oil cooler on the chain cover

Does anyone have more before and after data on stock HP on a track? I'm thinking of going this route for oil cooling just not 100% convinced it will be enough
|
Hitting the track on Friday. First time out with the oil cooler so I'll have some data then.

i will likely have data post 5/15 myself. |
OK, just got the data from the track.
Max oil temp was 124C, or 255F. That was for one sample. The rest of the time it was 122C or lower. Coolant was pretty steady at 93C to 94C all around. |
