DIY Trans Bushing, Rear Shift Bush, MTEC spring Q
I want to install the Kartboy rear shifter bushing, transmission bushing and MTEC shifter springs. Will ramps alone get me enough clearance to do these? I am somewhat doubtful.

Well, for the transmission bushing, yes. Easily, too. However, are gonna have a "fun" time with the rest. It is doable to drop the transmission while on ramps, as long as you are careful.

I can get my car on a lift if need be, but I'd rather just do it in the driveway when the mood strikes. Keeps me limber, lol. |
Trans does not need to be dropped for any of that. Should be doable on jackstands, ramps may be a bit cramped if your feet are towards the rear of the car. Might limit elbow room around the rear shifter bushing/driveshaft carrier.

I think everything except the springs you could do easily on jackstands. I just did the MTEC springs and even on my lift they were a little tougher. They are tucked up at the top of the transmission, and have threadlocker on them, so it takes a bit of force to break them loose initially. The problem is the transmission tunnel is so narrow that i had to use a 10mm Allen wrench on the driver's side, and it barely cleared, with another regular wrench as a "cheater". There isn't a way to get a rachet or a torque wrench back up in there to tighten it, so i just guesstimated when I tightened it back down.. The passenger side requires a 1 1/16' socket, and you wont be able to fit a 1/2 drive rachet up there unless you the exhaust. I used a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter & a universal joint to get to it. It's a matter of having enough leverage when you're laying underneath the car.

^also want to know if they make a noticeable difference

Well, I put them in after I already had a Kartboy shifter, but they made a difference with it also. Tightened up the 2-3 & 4-5 shifts appreciably.
