I've personally never had any issues with heat with this particular shift knob. Having said that, I've never parked the car in direct sunlight to find out. I can see that it probably would get quite hot with the sun beating down on it all day. But regular driving and lengthy road trips are great with no heat issues at all. The shift knob has a really nice weight with excellent feel and comfort.

Where I live, the cold is more of an issue than the heat ;)
