Don't want to drive anything else. At all. Really.
I quite enjoy RWD V8s with loads of torque and love that V8 sound (think Hemi, Z06, etc) and have owned a few..
But I love the FRS and I don't want to drive anything else. Really. Even if you were to give me a Z06, Nissan GT-R, Cayman S (insert your favorite here), I would still keep my FRs and flog it daily. This car has a unique unmatched quality, a certain character, that makes it special...in addition to its other fantastic traits listed elsewhere. I do have a track day coming up shortly in Vegas where I'll get time behind the wheel of the Cayman R and GT-R but I doubt it will change my mind... I'm betting the takeaway will be "awesome cars, can't wait to take the FRS to the track!" not "I wish I had..." So I can't imagine getting rid of it to drive anything else. I wonder how many feel the same? (That being said-- somebody please give me a Gt-R, Cayman S or Z06 ;) ) |
I feel the same

Having driven an FR-S and BRZ a few times, I think you'll like the Cayman R. I haven't personally driven a GT-R, so I don't know what to think about those, but to me, the Cayman is very similar to the FR-S in a number of ways, but with more power, more grip, and (in my humble opinion) better balance. Also, the noise the Cayman makes is absolutely glorious from inside the cabin. I'll be curious to hear your reaction after the drive though.

I still want a Z06 one day, no doubt, especially after seeing the C7. I'd probably want a GT-R if they had a proper manual gearbox. I love my BRZ, but I also loved the Camaro I traded for it.

Everytime I get out of the car and smell hot rubber I can't get the grin of my face.

(Tip to prospective buyers whose wives think the same: don't show her the back seat until after you sign the paperwork ;)) |
Also, bang for buck is unmatched, a big factor. Plus, one look inside the engine compartment, sold. After trying to work on an Audi S4 biturbo, the FRS engine bay is literally cavernous. Also I figured, it's a Toyota after all, how bad ca it be to fix when something goes wrong? High performance German cars , OTOH... It's an arm and a leg and an arm.. Not including the appendages lost trying to remove that one stinking unreachable bolt for two hours...

I feel 100% the same, i had a 400whp eclipse gsx, 280whp eclipse gst, 2 lexus is300's and a sc400, and i have driven Hondas, bmws, a Maserati, rode in a lotus espirit and have always loved supras, isf's and lfas, and i would rather have my frs than any of them except maybe the lfa just because its and LFA but i wouldn't take anything under 70gs of my FRS. Im in love.

Only the R8 V10 would sway me, nothing else offered at moment would however. :)

I will agree that my FR-S is a hell-of-a-lot more fun to drive than my wife's Saturn .... ;) humfrz @FloridaFRSdriver - if you would bring that machine of yours out to the mountains .... you would really be a happy driver ....:D |
