High quality outdoor car cover recommendation?

There is only one space left in my garage and I must decide whether it is for BRZ or my beloved MDX. The X is 7 years old, but it is our family car. Even though I love BRZ, it is hard to see all the family get out of MDX in the rain and run for the door. It is just not right.

So I think the solution is to buy a good car cover for BRZ and let MDX occupy the garage. After extensive research, the two brands that show up are California Car Cover and Covercraft. It seems that they often use the same material for the car cover. So the question is which material is better and whose craftsmanship is better? Each would cost about $200 and I am wondering what costs are after some kind of deal?

Any recommendation would be highly appreciated.

Great Question. My R8 has one spot and the Wife's Mini has the other so the BRZ is stuck in the cold during the bad winter days. He needs a cover to keep the ice and snow off.

The one in the accessory catalog is pretty nice. I don't usually cover my cars and this one will be used primarily indoors, however.

California in storm weave material. Have had one on my gti for 3 years and it's been nothing but great

Do you have to wash your gti thoroughly and dry each time before you put the cover on? I am concerned about little sand etc trapped underneath the cover. So three years it has been great? I like it a lot. Any tips or comments would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks a lot. May I ask how long have you been using it? And what kind of accessories are the most desirable ones?

I've been lazy and put the cover on the car with it far from spotless plenty of times. And it was a fully re painted, wetsanded flat and buffed show car. It never left any swirls or marks that bothered me and I'm pretty picky when it comes to paint since that's what I do for a living.

I've used them for 12 years now on more then a few vehicles, zero issues and in horrible weather on a few vehicles to. IMO their best value cover overall.

Do you guys use these covers as a daily cover? Like uncover in the morning and cover back up at night? Or are these usually only used for parking your BRZ/FRS outside for long stretches of time?

I purchased this exact cover from this site. I also googled a coupon, I think I got 10% off. I'm very satisfied with this cover, its very high quality, soft, breathable. I leave me car parked at an airport for 20 day intervals.

Sorry to revive this thread, but how small and easy to use are some of these covers? The weather in SF isn't too horrible, and I'm in a carport, but want to cover it since I don't think I'm going to be using it every day!

I just bought the Rain X Luxury cover. The material seems like it won't scratch or harm the paint. Just put in on 15 mins ago, so i'll report back when it rains, which is supposed to be on Sunday. I'm in the process of cleaning out my garage, and then it's going inside. I'll probably still use the cover in the garage though, because I have a company car I get to drive during the week. It's dusty here in Cen-Cal!

Check Auto Chic out of NJ. There's a guy in Florida that has one on his Cayenne R Porsche and he's had it for a bunch of years and it fits like a glove.
