Help me inform my dealer!

I've purchased a few cars from a local dealer & generally really like their service. They're a huge regional dealer (Simmons-Rockwell)- very high volume, always advertising cars under MSRP. They sell a good many Subaru's (and wrx's) this being a harsh winter region.

I've been in contact with them for months now about ordering a BRZ & they still say their Subaru rep hasn't let them know how to do so. They're going to let me know as soon as they "get one on the lot". As I understand, Subaru is only shipping ordered BRZ's. I don't want to miss out as it sounds demand is higher than anticipated.

Anyone have any thoughts what's going on here? I'm pretty sure they're not priming me for a demand adjusted sale. Any thoughts on how I can move the pre-order process forward with them?

Thanks!

Strange. They can order the BRZ through their normal ordering process. Same as ording a Legacy or Impreza.

I had the same issue with my dealer. They were not going to do any pre-orders until pricing had been announced. I basically had to go in to the dealership with my checkbook in hand and this "inspired" them to start making phone calls to SoA. It took a couple hours for them to get it sorted out, they got talked through the whole process, but we got it done.

Edit: The other thing to consider: They may want to wait until a car arrives in order to mark it up. The sales manager where I bought mine said that any that they got on the lot would be marked up (before I get flamed, I am paying MSRP :P).

They can pre-order one. If their Subaru Rep has really been too lazy to tell them what to do I'm sure they could call them up. Go talk to the sales manager.

If they have no preorders they will still get cars in May. If they are supposed to get 14 cars for the seven month period that means they'll get two cars. It doesn't matter if someone pre-ordered them or not. However, they will be random cars, which will likely be the less diserable colors, automatics, and a mix of premium/limited as most of the preorders are 6MT cars in the popular colors based on our pre order thread here.

If they are still too stupid to figure that out, find another dealer.

Is it possible that they haven't been allocated any BRZs? Otherwise I would question if your dealer is either not being completely honest with you, or is incompetent. I hate to be so judgemental, but come on it's a car salesmen. There are good ones out there but they should never be completely trusted.

And it's not pre-orders anymore, it's real orders, since pricing was announced.

Based on the OPs summary that they are a dealer that does shift WRXs, they should be getting some.
