Official Total-Car Weights Thread

For those of you that have done any amount of weight reduction and then weighed the entire car, post your results here. Be sure to include how much gas was in your tank at the time and any other information you think is relevant. Corner weights, if you've got 'em.

I hope to be able to contribute to this thread within the next two months, but in the meantime, I'd like to see what others have achieved.

Huh? No just removed it all out. I have since put it back in as the exhaust drone made my ears bleed. :mad0259:

Been on the lookout for a rear seat delete kit not named Seibon, hence my question.

Why not just take the seats out and call it day? Free'er and lighter.

NVH, aesthetics

Anthony 10-30-2013 04:09 AM

Do those kits have foam in them or something? I figured they were just carbon fiber panels. I wouldn't think plain carbon fiber would do much for NVH.

2743 with no junk in the trunk and race wheels and tires on. 1/3 tank of gas. No driver.

Damn. That's pretty disappointing, actually. The official weight thread said 2,750 bone stock with a full tank of gas.

Not much I'm sure

I bet if you got creative and had some really flat cardboard to work with, you could make your own kit out of cardboard and Plasti Dip. It would do 0 for NVH, but it would cover your aesthetics for really cheap for the time being. And it would be supa light.

EDIT: Actually, you could throw in your own sound proofing materials and probably come out with something superior to whatever Seibon's doing. DIYFTWLOLBRB!

Cardboard template, make sheetmetal version with small slots in mounting holes and use a rubber/plastic washers between the sheetmetal and body?
