Went to an Up Garage in Nagoya, Japan

Visited an Up Garage when I was in Japan. It's like a Pep Boys on JDM steroids. Pretty cool place.

Saw some FR-S related stuff. Seems cheap. Used steering wheel $240, door stabilizer $50, front lip $260, aftermarket tail lights $400.

Up garage has so much gangster shit. You should see if they an old school thrash garage seat.

I wished TRD made their front bumper aero without the built-in plate holder. I would be all over it.

Is this like the Ross or Marshalls of car parts? I wish they had this in america.

ciro 10-26-2013 08:06 PM

those prices are actually kinda expensive with the exchange rate to USA.

azian_advanced 10-26-2013 09:22 PM

the prices aren't bad considering they're authentic parts, unlike all the replica parts on this side of the pond.

The door stabilizers are a steal for $50. They're like over $200 new.

Live in Japan for 12 years. Up garage basically gets all their parts from people selling the things off of their old cars, to gutting vehicles before they are crushed. Japan really doesn't have junk yards due to space so cars are crushed and melted down, then made into something else. Up garage has a contract with junk yards so that any modified car is stripped of all aftermarket parts and are sold to up garage who in turn sells to us. I got a pair of Recaro SPGs in perfect condition with low rails for $300 for my old BNR32. Would always go there to get parts. Wheels are usually dirt cheap also.

Damn, that TRD front bumper is dirt cheap.

Edit: Does anyone here know any vendors that can order from upgarage and ship to US?

Seems like everything from upgarage is dirt cheap. I looked over the site and Colin taillights were like 350-400$. And bump for to find out which vendors can order from upgarage.

This is going to be an odd first (maybe first?) post, but I have a friend in Japan and get parts sent to me from Japan quite frequently. I started looking at FT86 parts, but I haven't purchased one yet so I felt kinda wierd having him grab me stuff.

I can help hook anyone up with stuff from Upgarage, etc, just message me. I went to two different ones when I was in Tokyo this summer and went to a bunch of Toyota showrooms - even a SuperAutoBocs (if you want it new). Keep in mind - shipping isn't cheap.

As far as rep, etc, I have a good reputation on Supraforums/Supramania and can reference my ebay account as well.

Got this box a few weeks ago and have a few more in the mail right now:

I just came back from Japan earlier this year. Was there for 4 years. Lot of my friends still back there can get me a hookup.

Way too much of a hassle, and the whole JDM thing is played out too hard. Honestly, buying stuff from upgarage from the states will *most likely* come out more expensive.

Just buy new shit and be done with it unless it's super rare.

There are some sweet deals though - 69900 (a little more than $700) for a HKS Spec L exhaust seems like a good deal to me (they're $1400-1500 shipped on ebay)
