2013 BRZ Navigation not working?
Hi,
Just got my 2013 brz. Everything is fine but I can't figure out how to get the navigation to work. The gps, radio and all the basic stuff work but when I try to enter a new destination/POI or go through blue tooth settings, it won't allow me to select it. I would say 90% of the buttons are greyed out. I even tried plugging in my ipod via the usb provided but no music is playing. Anyone know whats going on and how to reset the system? Thanks! |
Make sure you are parked.

I took out the button and it asked me to enter a new password but the keyboard itself is also greyed out and unable to use. Only the back button works... |
is the E-Brake on?
The canadian factory nav unit from Pioneer is a pain in the ass until you hack/mod it to allow input anytime. |

Its getting pretty fustrating. None of the main features I can use. I can't even get into system settings.. Only the radio is functioning and the gps which only shows where your current location is. Won't allow you to select destination. Could it be faulty wiring? |
Could you possibly still be in a current "route"? I know some of the buttons grey out if you haven't completed a previous route and it still thinks you're trying to get to your destination. The e-brake may also have something to do with it as well.

ebrake, its a safety feature, they don't want you playing with it when you are driving
even aftermarket systems are like that, but you can bypass it. |
No that's working as intended. It's a safety thing so you don't use it while driving. Hacked mine the other day and it works in all situations now

Thank you guys! It was the ebrake that was restricting my access.
The first vehicle i've ever experience with this kind of feature. Still in love :) Thanks again! |
Don't use Subaru's nav. It's the worst navigation I've EVER seen/used. Every 2 minutes I get a disconnection and is useless in the city. Just use your smartphone.

Brzs in Canada have port installed pioneer avic head units for navigation, not oem stuff. Although I'm not a huge fan of the avic, it's 100x better than most manufacturer OE units I've seen
