Someone posted this online and it looks amazing. :confused0068:

Is this anyone here? Is it photoshopped? It looks great and would be an awesome project. For a reference I also attached a photo of my GT-R's engine bay so you can get a perspective of this size. ***I added a few more pictures for perspective on the size of the engine.***

It looks plausible and there are some settle differences that lead me to believe that it just might be real.

Looks photoshopped to me.

Byebye 10-26-2013 09:56 AM

Top one is a photoshop. Bottom one doesn't show enough of anything to know what it's in.

ZionsWrath 10-26-2013 09:56 AM

clearly photoshopped unless they hacked in the GTR fenders with the engine swap, look at the left and right sides next to the intakes.

chimmy 10-26-2013 10:00 AM

2nd pic is just a GTR. Can tell by the shape of dashboard behind windshield.

The bottom one is the engine in my GT-R…

AVodka14 10-26-2013 10:06 AM

Photoshopped.

JDMenrique 10-26-2013 10:08 AM

Whats a settle difference?

2013GTRNate 10-26-2013 10:13 AM

To me this would be just as awesome as an LS1 swap. I am not sure of the cost differences though… The VR38DETT engine can make big power with a small amount of modifications…

It could be that the angles are different between the photos but it appears some of the hoses are routed differently.

They left in the hood prop.

Good catch! That does look like the hood prop. I was hoping that it was real albeit a setup like this would be hard to keep quite for too long.

Khazzy 10-26-2013 04:33 PM

Yeah it just looks too good to be true. Definite photoshop, I too was wondering about the dark line.

Hmongfrs 10-26-2013 05:15 PM

Even tho its photoshopped it look dam good...

636 10-26-2013 05:27 PM

I thought that looked familiar.

Here's the original.

jdm-az-fuk 10-26-2013 05:37 PM

It would be waaayyyy to costly to ever actually make sense.

Used GTR longblocks are going to 13k. Trans would be another 5-6k.

For that you bolt on a FBM kit and some E85 and beat a GTR all day long.

A stock one of course lol

Probably not, unless you're talking 1/4 mile. Maybe.

Shawn is that because of the aerodynamics and quicker shifting on the GT-R?

Hmongfrs 10-31-2013 08:17 PM

even tho frs have fbm kit and e85 i still take the r35..i came from a Nissan family but also a fan of the frs..when the frs first came out i was in love with it even tho my s13 was bad ass with the rb swap and now i own one and sold my s13....i wish the frs should have a vr38dett in it..ill buy it no matter how much it cost...

Lol this could not be further from the truth. A twin would need at least 500 to the ground to even barely hang with a bone stock GTR. They might weigh almost 4k lbs, they are still blindingly fast in stock form.

Atropine 11-01-2013 11:44 AM

I see no crickets...so its photoshopped...

now if someone can photoshop some crickets into it...I will give it my stamp of legitimacy

TylerLieberman 11-01-2013 12:25 PM

That VR38 swapped BRZ is badass. It has a floating hood prop and 17 different headlight brackets....oh and hoodpins mounted to.... air?

Search Youtube FRS vs BRZ and see how wrong you are :thanks:

Atropine 11-01-2013 12:45 PM

From a standing start

GT-R>BRZ/FR-S

rolling start is where a 400HP Twin has an advantage

its a AWD vs 2WD thing (when dealing with huge power)

TopGearSolutions 11-01-2013 12:47 PM

The twins engine bay is not even big enough for all of that stuff anyway. Especially to utilize the factory intakes from the GTR. It's already a tight fit on the GTR stuffing that engine in that car and that car is much wider and longer.

Sorry man, a friend of mine is pushing 475, and eats GT-R's on the street.

Yep - the GT-R engine is pretty big. If you want to make a ton of power with an engine swap in this car, an LS swap is probably a better idea.

sklimo 11-01-2013 02:22 PM

2JZ or GTFO lol

Nah - the LS is smaller, lighter, and can make more power. It sounds better too.

glorydays 11-01-2013 09:02 PM

nah - id take a screaming inline six any day.

There is a local guy only making 425 that beats stock GTRs by 2-3 cars.

On a roll of course

Black86 11-01-2013 11:49 PM

Gtr's are deadly af when they do the full bolt on e85 upgrade! From there on up they just get more violent. I do agree 420-500whp in the twins would be nasty that's what I want with mine :D debating on just the simple turbo kit/e85 or going Jz. Btw that gtr motor in the twins would def be a unique swap!

Interesting

Black86 11-02-2013 06:49 PM

I think the frs would have pulled more if the shifts were more solid, same frs that ran a gutted 435whp evo 8 on e85. If the shifts were better the evo would have been a gonner.

Some. As pointed out above, and correctly, the GT-R is designed for laptimes, not fun.

Everything on the car is focused to go faster.

The twins were designed for fun shifting, fun dynamics, and good driver feedback and control.

Just a different design focus.

Shawn

P.S. However, for everyone who says the GT-R is no fun at all haven't driven one, especially on a curvy track with VDC off
