What the.. Did the lady just hit you and kept on going?!?! As far as what your friend said, I don't think so... It seems just to be outer exterior dmg. But I'm no specialist.. so sorry if Im not too much help.

I'm not an expert but look at your pic, the damage doesn't look that bad.

the thing in question is that the area where the slice is sliced in pretty deep

That can be replaced just like the door panel with either an OEM or aftermarket OEM panel.

Here is one for a 4 dr Civic.

about 10 minutes into my research it seems that alot of ep3's with rear quarter panel damage get totalled and alot have salvaged titles because of it

It probably depends on the value. I've seen a 10 year old minivan totaled when it got a 3 foot long slice in the sliding door and a 1" puncture in the fender. Insurance companies get their figures off of new parts and professional installation. So it's very easy to total an older car. :/

03 civic si with hail damage has a value of maybe 4500-5000 max lol. we will see

Can you give us info on the car? Year and model to be exact.

Looking at it this might be more than the car is worth so I think theres a chance it will be written off.

btw did she back into you then keep going? cause thats huge damage for a backing in accident

I had a steady momentum when it happened and she didnt stop at all. it pushed through my car.

It is a 2003 Civic SI with roughly 120k miles and hail damage. Other damage that happened include the rear bumper and part of the front, so it theres 500+ alone on the front and rear

Cost of repair vs value of the car. I'd say totaled for sure.

It's really (Cost of Repair) + (Salvage Value) <= (Car Value)

Here's a good explanation from Progressive.

The issue is the value of the car. Ep3s aren't worth much since they are the least desirable civic si. Rear qtr damage is also expensive to fix. To do it right at a good shop that's $3k plus of damage so IMO there's a good chance it'll be totaled.

And this ^

As long as it wasn't your fault and based on the photo it wasn't, then you should receive a check for you loss by the other's person's insurance company.
