And now for the cats. We have 3 to go with the 3 dogs.

The orange tabby is our former cat Darwin. The long haired on is Puffy, the black and white one is Felix, and the brown tabby is Nibbler.

All of cats are fully weaponized.

Bluebirds are pretty neat. We don't see them too often around here, but I saw one while I was out on a bike ride last week.

Yeah, we usually get a family or two around here every year. They are very cool! Definitely my favorite of the wild birds.

Brett, great photos! In the first picture it looks like the kitten is ready to pounce on Darwin. I like how cats hunker down behind something as they prepare for a sneak attack.

Oh yeah -- good point. Same here regarding our cats. Last thing they need is to be defenseless and unable to protect themselves. They both can dish out some pain, but I'd hate for them to be unable to protect themselves if they were lounging around outside and something came up on them. Besides, they do like to go into hunter mode sometimes when they hear mice in the garage.

We've never had issues with them tearing things up except for one carpet that they liked. I bought some similar carpet from an outlet (it was leftover from cuts) and then built them a special scratcher that had that same material and would sprinkle some kitty crack (catnip) on it. They never touched the other one again. They have access to a myriad of scratchers and that seems to be enough.

On another note... The dogs in this thread are making me think I need a running partner for the park!

Just be sure to work them up to it. Dogs can be extremely loyal, and will continue to follow even though they're in great pain. We don't want any ACL surgeries :). Them's expensive and painful!
