Awesome, thanks for sharing this. I will try to make it!

Do they have helmets for rent?

Haha, true. Can you recommend any good shops in socal that I can try on helmets? LA or OC area.

SPCorBUST 10-23-2013 08:47 PM

you could also just buy your own headsock and rent a helmet from them for $10 or so.

for people racing once a month or less, its not really cost effective to purchase your own.

martin82 10-23-2013 08:51 PM

you can just purchase a cheap helmet for like $150, well worth it than renting nasty helmets! U can technically use a moto helmet no problem, something like this: http://hjchelmets.com/hjca/cl16_machine

Who's planning on this one ???

My_First_Subaru 10-27-2013 12:55 PM

This sounds fun but I've never been to a track before. Having stock everything on the car is ok? Brakes, tires etc don't need to be upgraded?

SPCorBUST 10-27-2013 04:27 PM

its fine but the stock brake pads will fade after a few laps. you could always run the next session again for that day though

first time out i'd probably leave traction control on and then once you're comfortable (maybe midday) put it into the sport setting

Just moved to socal last week, had to miss my track day at amp to get out here so this should make a nice welcome to social track day for me :)
