Looking for...oil filters! Vendors help!

I am in search of the project mu HOMF02 oil filter
I am also in search of the sard XA3191

I was told these should fit the fa20 subaru motor. Now finding them is the hard part lol. Please is anyone has one in stock let me know? I want to try it out on the next oil change.

You should probably stick to the Subaru OEM 15208AA130 oil filter since it's the only one that has been confirmed to have the correct bypass valve spring value.

But, best of luck in your search.

so we shouldnt use another type of filter?

I mean you can use whatever you want, but I think technically the Subaru OEM filter is the only "correct" choice.

I'm going to use it just for the added peace of mind.

project mu and SARD are probably just re branded filters of another JDM brand. I've done a ton of reading the last few days on oil filters (first oil change is coming up) and the BLACK OEM filter 15208AA130 is the way to go.

Else you can buy Hamp, HKS, SARD, or project mu if you just want that JDM bling factor.

ps: I though Project Mu makes brakes mainly I wouldn't want to use a oil filter from them..

I had this filter passed on to me a few days ago. Seems like the only viable alternative so far close to stock bypass specs and flow rate.

Other than that, stay OE Subie oil filter.

There's a JDM TRD sport oil filter for the GT 86, should match the BRZ as well IMHO.
TRD parts # is MS500-18001

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUBARU-FORES...d89f67&vxp=mtr

6 OEM filters for 36 dollars
Part # is 15208AA130 so these should be the correct ones

and if you're a bit paranoid about the above link just because it says forester and not BRZ/FRS, here's another link from the same seller

Check you local Subaru dealer. Also, if there are any local Subaru clubs or forums, they may have worked a deal with the dealership for filters and other parts.

Failing that, also check out SubaruGenuineParts.com they have a package of 6 I think for a reasonable price.

Don't go to Toyota. Reports from others on this forums make it appear that Toyota dealerships are buying Subaru filters at list price and marking them, making for some stupid pricing.
