Mud Flaps (guards)

Okay, with winter coming right up and my plan to use my FR-S as my year round dd I want to buy the part.

1. They come in black only, or more choices?

2. Is there a difference between ordering from dealer and ordering from Amazon?

Thanks

So far from what I've seen, I like the ones from Rally Armor best. They're cheaper than the OEM ones and provide better protection. Since I live on a dirt road, that's important.

Scion's mudgaurds come in black only, and list at $109, $20 less than RallyArmor. To my knowledge, there is little difference in ordering from the dealer, Amazon, and Ebay.

You can easily get the OEM ones for $40-60, plenty of vendors have it in that range. Saw a number of people mention getting theirs for $50-$60 directly from the dealer.

I got my oem for 65 off ebay. Plenty of vendors in that range too

I found mud flaps, genuine scion (supposedly), for $55.76 on Amazon. prime eligible to boot!

Is this okay?

My car came with the OEM mudguards so I got stuck paying $109 or something for em. They are pretty decent but nothing like the rally armors I had on my old Mitsubishi. I would never put rally armors on the FRS tho. They look more fit for a rally car.

Yea, I ordered the same ones last year (for almost double)

If you're in a real rush for them, there's a huge Toyota parts distribution center in the South Shore that can have parts to any local dealer in a day.

Nameless (the company's actual name) is using an FRS for rally. And for someone like myself, who lives around a lot of gravel roads, and on a gravel road, it's going to be rallied!

Strange the OEM one's are $85 AUS when I brought them, and I like 'em over any third party versions I've seen.

the look is all personal preference. I think OEM and Rally Armor both do their job fine. I prefer the rally armor look and that's what I went with. There was(maybe still is?) a group buy for them.

Those don't look like they stick out as far to the side as others I've seen. Did you custom mount them to be flush with the fender wall? Or are there a couple mounting options pre-drilled?

I used all the pre-drilled holes already on the frame. Followed the directions to a T. They do stick out further than the OEM, but I never understood why people thought they stuck out too far on this car. :iono:
