Got my final sales price

For reference I ordered a Limited w/Manual transmission
(All values rounded only slightly)

Car + Destination: $28,265
Tax (8.75% here): $2,500
Generic 'Fee': $100
Plates (transfer): $60

Total (approx): $30,900

Not too bad I suppose. Tax in NY sucks, not sure about other states.

At least your tax beats Ontario, Canada. 13%HST, so don't feel so bad.

deadeyes989 04-12-2012 01:56 PM

Wow!

Though if I remember correctly there isn't an income tax in Canada (in most provinces at least I believe). Hence the higher sales taxes... I think?

Either way that's going to be a steep price there :(

100 seems pretty decent for fees.

My dealer sent me mine today as well. Official release price of 26,295, plus tax, title, tag, and a $299 () processing fee he has placed my Premium MT w/ no accessories at $27,474.20 OTD.

Earlier in the day he sent me a typical sales email that mentioned .9% financing on all new models. I asked him if my BRZ would be eligible and he said I had to wait to see what offers were available when it arrived. Drat.

BAHAHAHA oh I wish there was no income tax but there is. In Alberta sales tax is only 5% though..

Scratch that, I'm an idiot! Just looked into that real quick, no idea when or what put that idea in my head. Oops!:iono:

God I am hoping 0.9% is correct!:happy0180:

Awesome to know! I ordered the exact same configuration and live in NY as well so this will help a lot when I finalize the price at my dealer.

:thanks:

Yup oddly enough my dealer was also pretty convinced the rates (both lease and finance) would be very good. That's something else to consider over the FRS in canada as Toyota Finance rates on Scions were pretty lousy (4.9-5.9).

Turbowned 04-12-2012 03:07 PM

Here I am complaining about 6.25% sales tax! Although mostly because it's harder to do math in my head compared to the 5% tax we had for the longest time...

Guff 04-12-2012 03:14 PM

Using those numbers with Texas sales tax, the car would be about $30,150 OTD. Not bad for a Limited MT.

(K) 04-12-2012 03:29 PM

That's pretty good, plus you paid MSRP.

The misc fee isn't bad either, I'd be more willing to fork that over than what some places charge here. My deposit is essentially nullified because of the doc fee.

I respect you for looking it up afterward and not deleting your post.
