Test Drive
 

I was just brousing the Subaru site and I noticed in the bottom right hand corner they show a BRZ with the following message:

Test-Drive the All-New 2013 Subaru BRZ
The all-new BRZ has arrived. Find a Subaru dealer near you to set up a test drive today.

Does anyone know if they are now allowing test drives?

Well they let us drive one before I ordered, though I did get the impression they weren't supposed to.

If you're serious about buying I'm sure the salesmen will let you take it for a spin to get your business.

I pre-ordered at Patrick Subaru on 3/1 and actually went there and saw the car on Monday. They were not allowing test drives since they said it was a pre-prod model, which is why I was curious to see it mentioned on the Subaru site this morning.

Pretty hard to have a test drive when they don't have cars yet. That's just a copy-and-paste website error. We have that on our Audi website, too. "Schedule a test drive for the 2013 Audi RS5 today!" (Except we aren't getting one until October and it will be pre-sold, so no, you can't test drive one).

I was thinking the exact same thing, but I know that I've also seen it mentioned in other threads that they might allow test drives in the pre-prod models after 3/26.

Some of us have gotten lucky and were able to test drive the car. Fortunately, I was one of them. :D

When I got a ride in a BRZ, the rep said they were waiting on insurance paperwork so they could legally give test drives. Also, another rep at the Columbus Auto Show said that we would be able to have our local dealership request a BRZ show up for a test drive "soon".

So this could very well be correct.

I'm guessing this is just sort of standard for subaru. I'm sure it's limited to something like if they happen to have one in stock that's not already sold. And if that's the case good luck getting a testdrive anytime soon.

I talked to one of the local Sales Managers. He had one more spot for pre-orders, said they were only taking 3 pre-orders and the rest would be for the showroom. He also said they would have the showroom models available 2 weeks before the pre-orders.
