Exhaust Questions?
 

Alright, I'm a little bit confused. I've never owned a non-force inducted car. The only cars I've toyed around with are mainly Turbo's. (I come from a long line of Subarus in my family.)

Now, my last car was an STi, and I promptly got a new exhaust. Changing out the downpipe, midpipe, and axleback immediately for pipes with no cats. Now, I understand what a downpipe is, a catback is an exhaust from the cat-back, and an axleback is the rear pipe.

How does that differ on our cars? I see posts about people selling overpipes, frontpipes, midpipes, downpipes...but I'm not entirely sure where they are on this car.

As far as I know, we have 3 separate pipes, the axleback, the mid?pipe, and I'm assuming the downpipe.

What the hell is an overpipe? I understand my STi had an up-pipe, but there's no turbo on this car, so I'm assuming it doesn't have one. Is that the replacement?

The exhaust is five pieces. Header with a cat. Over pipe routes through the front passenger frame side. Front pipe with cat. Mid pipe. Then finally axleback.

Some companies have fabbed the overpipe and front pipe as one. The name for that will vary.

Yea two cats. The OBII or what ever its called is in front of the front pipe.
