SWP same colour code as IS250 WP?

I saw a IS250 on my way to work.. looked very clean, and i saw that it was a white pearl colour. So I thought.. hmm is this the same colour code(37J) as the one on the Toyota 86??

Jeff Lange 04-12-2012 10:56 AM

The FR-S and 86 have completely different colour codes from any other Toyota model, so it is hard to know if any of them exactly match up with anything yet.

Chances are it is not the same as a Lexus though, as many Lexus colours are only used on Lexus. If anything, I'd think it might be the similar to Toyota's 070 white pearl used on cars like the RAV4. That being said, they're all Subaru colours except for Hot Lava.

SWP Toyota is using is Subaru's SWP

What is the color code for whiteout?

It has been my speculation that whiteout is just another name for marketing purposes. It wouldn't seem right to differentiate car colors since they're all being built in one factory, t least from a business view point.

FR-S and BRZ use Subaru colors. I don't know about hot lava though.

Stryker Trailwood 04-12-2012 11:17 PM

Hot lava is the only "toyota" color, i remember a post in another thread though that said subaru gave hot lava its own "Subaru" code?
the Toyota code for hot lava is 4R8
Scion uses it a lot. The rest of the colors are Subaru colors just with different names

Edit:
Subaru did give hot lava their own code, H8R

I don't get all these color threads. None of these colors are new. I can go to any of the 10 Subaru dealers in my area and look at WRX's to see the colors available on the AS1. You guys can too.

That's one reason why I'm waiting for the 2nd year. All of these colors have been around since 2008 or longer.

I guess the only "new" color would be galaxy blue silica, but I saw a GBS BRZ in person and it's the same color as Blue Ridge Pearl. They just pulled it back from the year 2000.

Stryker Trailwood 04-13-2012 11:22 PM

i think it is more that people think the different brand badges implies they get different paint colors, seeing that WRB is only on the subaru and hot lava is only on the toyota/scion

Jeff Lange 04-14-2012 12:15 PM

Generally speaking, I would have expected different colours, even though the cars are being made at the same factories, but that's not the case. They're Subaru colours.

So is the SWP closer to the EVO's Igloo white? Any noticeable difference between the two?

Go to a Subaru dealer and look at it.

Picture a flat, off white with watery dish soap all over it.

It's a very ugly white.

Evo's Igloo white is a pure white no? If it is then expect very noticeable differences between it and SWP.
