Vortech Supercharging Systems Now Legal On 2 Continents...
In our continual effort to bring you the best, most efficient supercharging systems available, Vortech now offers Supercharging Systems completely legal for operation on 2 continents. CARB Legal here in North America, and TUV E5 approved for the European marketplace.
That's right boys and girls...WE PASSED! Not only just CARB, but our systems are now also TUV E5 approved in Europe as well. So now the systems making the most supercharged horsepower are also completely legal. Did I mention there was a Pre-SEMA Special going on too? If you haven't already done so, NOW is the time to add a Vortech Supercharging System to your 86... What would you do with 50% more power? http://vortechsuperchargers.files.wo...02/scion1b.jpg |
This makes me happy!

Congrats. Once my budget settles a bit more, it's one of the upgrades I'm planning for next summer! Started a new job that'll give my a bit more room for playing around :D

That's awesome news!!

for us that already have the kit, is there a badge or anything of that sort or some sort of document or some sign of proof? Awesome work dudes!! Great news!

Same question as ft86me. Will we have to have a Vortech base tune?
|
Excellent. Will there be a free flash available for those who don't use EcuTek?

I guess it wont... lol

IIRC, CARB only applies to kits purchased directly from Vortech using their tune. If you purchased from a tuner then I don't think it's CARB legal and I don't think you can buy just the tune from Vortech.

Awesome!
We have installed one of these o a local car and it is a very nice kit. |
If you purchase/purchased the complete system (P/N# 4TF218-014L) then you are covered both in the future and retroactively. We have always been very clear about the complete systems purchased with the Vortech calibration being the only systems that we can get covered under any E.O. that we are granted. The Air Resources Board is very particular about this. No smaller pulleys, no custom tuning.
With that being said, I have never been sure how a Smog test facility would be able to determine what actual tune is in your PCM. They can examine your parts, they can measure your pulleys, they can test your emissions...but has anyone ever seen them actually verify where a tune file came from? |
Awesome to hear. I know we love our kit. :)
