Scion Display Audio Questions

I'm thinking about buying the Scion Display Audio for my car. I just have the standard audio system right now. I haven't seen any DIY for the install. Its amazing that it's only $239 for the Display Audio. I wonder if its straight plug n play? Did anyone out there do the install themselves? was it easy?

MY14 Pioneer HU Upgrade

I did the upgrade following a DIY that is few enteries below your post. It's not going to be the price you quoted, being the add on price of the upgrade on a brand new car. It's going to be about $500+ based on my experience and all other members feed back. :slap:

It's strictly plug-and-play in 1/2 hour max if you don't drop any of the nuts into the audio compartment. :confused0068:

Easy but not that cheap! :happyanim:

Thanks guys. And thanks Paul for the links. I wonder if we can get it cheaper if we turn our HU in as a core

Its not 239 for the HU, its $239 if you are upgrading the old HU to the new one when you purchase your FRS. If you already had your FRS with the old HU you basically have to pay $500+ for the new one. They probably won't take the old headunit in either. It's being cycled out.

Just got off the phone with my dealership where I bought my frs. They said $530 for the HU. And about $95 if I wanted to get them to install it.

$95 to install??? What a joke!

Those are great prices if shipping is minimal or none. I got my setup of both at dealer cost and it was a little higher than the link.

What's with the sdcard? So I'm guessing every year we can update the maps but I did not see the sdcard slot on the GPS unit. Unless I missed it. Anyone know?

If you are considering upgrading the HU. I personally would go with an aftermarket. They offer tons more features and you can get exactly what you want.

can anyone tell me or point me to a thread for the 2014 HU showing operation?, I have the standard 2013 HU an it is horrible to navigate the ipod. Wondering if the new HU is easier to operate.
