Instrument Panel Fuse Box

Just a Head's Up:
If you ever have to replace a fuse at the fuse box located beneath the steering wheel - be prepared. You will need a flashlight or other light source and a very flexible body.

I used a portable "mini-pump" for tire pressure and blew the 15 amp fuse controlling one of the 12 volt power outlets.

Be sure to follow the directions for using the 'mini-pump'. I connected to the tire valve BEFORE turning on the pump.

When I was messing higher up in the dash behind the fuse box (looking for a good spot to install a separate fuse box for aftermarket electronics), I found out that if you have a platform that's as high as your door step, you can lay on it and slide right under the fuse box quite comfortably - and if you don't, you're in for pain.

What are you guys using to remove the small blade fuses? The removal tool that came with my fuse kit is too big.

I remember wondering the first time I saw this topic come up why a mirror wasn't the obvious solution to everyone. I have also used my phone's front camera as an electronic "mirror" to display the fuse box on the screen underneath it.

Needle nose pliers. I'm sure there's some reason why you're not supposed to use them. But whatever that reason is, it's not good enough.
