"The Tax"

Owning a BRZ has a tax- everywhere you go, if you talk to someone about the BRZ they're going to bring it up, and they're going to say or "You know they (subaru) are going to make a turbo model!" or "You know there's an STi version coming out!"

:mad0260: AAARRRRGHH no there isnt'! At least not in the US!

And every time I have to give the same response "Yeah can't wait to get those upgrades."

tax? :iono:

I feel your pain. Car-enthusiast friend of mine recently hit me up, asking if I had heard about the 250hp 200ftlb torque BRZ STI in the works, whether it was time for me to trade up, and how he was gonna wait for that one...bro, wait all you want with your mazda.
I'll be enjoying myself in the meantime.:burnrubber:

Just tell them you added an aftermarket turbo and it makes 400hp now....

the only "tax" i've received is unwanted scrutiny of attention for parking tickets :(

Saying it as something that you can't avoid when owning this car. Like owning a Fiat, everybody comes up and says "Do you know what Fiat stands for? Fix it again, Tyrone!"

Tyrone? You and I live in different demographics, I always heard Tony, like as in the only FIAT mechanic in town is of Italian descent...

In any case, kind of like owning a Honda and having to hear 'vtec kicked in yo!' twice a day, cummin vs strokin, the difference between a BMW and a porcupine, etc. etc.

Fully agree with the OP about the AWD/Turbo/More powaah questions, I usually bet people $100 that none of the above will be in dealer showrooms before January 1st 2016 (or ever for AWD), nobody has taken me up on it yet... Also the 'why didn't you get a Subaru?' but that's pretty easy because I hate in car nav systems.

Still better than the Initial D tax on the original AE86.

Oh, you want to buy a 1985 Toyota tin can with 112bhp going downhill with a strong wind? That'll be five, no, ten thousand dollars. 217k "original" miles. Paint is faded. tires worn out. I did some maintenance to it a while ago, but I don't have the receipts. My cousin put a system in it but we took it out. I have the title somewhere, I think. SUPER FIRM ON PRICE trades only for BMW M3/Toyota Supra + cash on your end. DON'T WASTE MY TIME.

Needless to say, I gave up trying to own an Hachi-Roku a while ago.
