Leather seats
Hi everyone, I've seen some frs with leather front seats. The look like real leather seats and not some clazzio covers.. Anyone know how much would they run and where would they have them?
I also don't think they are the gt86 ones...because the entire car is stock and driven by a girl.. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free |
Either custom or many dealers do the Katzkin leather replacement kits. They're not covers, but actually replace the stock cloth.

I want leather type seat but am not willing to spend the cash for going full leather.
I got in on this group buy (its still going on right now you can get in on it too): http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48839 These are some very very nice SARD leather type seat covers (made from PVC) that are custom made for our car. There are quite a few board members who have bought, installed, and reviewed these and everyone is extremely happy with them. The group buy price is $360 ($40 off normal price) + $45 flat rate shipping. This is the best price you will ever find on these great seat covers. |
I asked about the leather seats option when I purchased my car. If im not mistaken, they wanted $2,500 to swap out the cloth for leather. I still dont think it's worth it

Is it true that replacing the cloth seats for full genuine $2000+ leather seats adds a ton of weight to the car? I was seriously considering leather seats but was scared off due to the weight gain to the car.

Leather will add a negligible amount of weight to the car compared to cloth. Just use the restroom before you go anywhere and you'll even it out...

You could always import the Japanese/ Euro/ Australian leather/alacantara combo seats or the covers.
I have them and they're awesome. http://www.gt86ownersclub.co.uk/foru...nterior-10.jpg http://www.fastmotoring.com/wp-conte...bucketseat.jpg http://vcdn.paultan.org/image/Leathe...AE-850x601.jpg http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...4&d=1360698382 |

Find out which local shop that dealer(and most others in the area) use for their leather jobs...cut out the dealer and go directly to them. OR, do the above to find out the price, subtract about 10-15% off that to get an idea of what the dealer paid, and make an offer "slightly" higher. I'll tell you right now, Katzkin in a car the size of a Civic, Corolla, Twins, will be around $1200 for a walk-in customer, and around $800-1000 for the dealer. Anything you offer over $1000-1200 should be a healthy profit for them. If they refuse, tell them to go fuck themselves and get it done yourself. |

For 5,500 on top of the base price (Which is 29,990 AUD) you get the leather Alacantara seats which are heated, The Euro Spec HID Headlamps with the DRL strips, A touchscreen Sat Nav, trunk door liner and dual zone climate control. It's basically the 10 Series except it comes in all colours and with leather seats. |
Clazzio Leather!

I just got my Leather Clazzio installed and I am very happy with them! I was not going to pay $1900 for dealer leather seats that look just like the cloth except all black.

Leather looks great and smells great, but it wears so poorly. I had it in my M3 and in my Cobra and HATED IT! You slide everywhere, and the edges where you slide your but to get in the car wear out pretty fast. I feel it's more of a "status" thing. You feel like the car is nicer with leather, but it ends up being more of a pain IMHO
