RAVENOL Eco Synth ECS 0W-20

Hey guys. Fuzz here from CPT in South Africa. Looking at oil options for my 86.

I have found this oil and would like you opinions on it. Anyone use RAVENOL Eco Synth ECS 0W-20 yet ?
Any UAO's ?

Seems like a great group 4 oil. Really well priced here in SA as well.

Hi Fuzz!

Ravenol isn't very popular in N. America and those that use it are usually owners of German cars.

At first, I was going to say that it must be amazing if it meets ACEA A5/B5 like the link above states. Then I looked up ACEA A5 and found that the minimum HTHS for A5 is 2.9 so there is no way that this oil can meet A5 specs with an HTHS of less than 2.6.

See page 5

Maybe it's just a typo on the web site, but there are some manufacturers that claim that they meet a spec which is impossible for them to meet. As long as it meets API SN specs as indicated on the bottle then the oil is probably fine.
