I Was Looking at the BRZ But Might End Up With FRS
I wanted all the bells and whistles but it looks like the FRS is becoming the better choice. Aside from being able to upgrade some interior bits by buying from Subaru parts, the lower starting price, and the possibility of upgrading to TRD Supercharger in the future, I found out this evening there might be a $1000 Military Rebate to be had.
The other thing I wanted was better seat materials, but I am sure Clazzio or even Katzskin will come out with some nice covers.....Im ready to put my order in :party0030: |

lmao.....

Sadly that baby alone sums up alot of assumptions through a BRZer's eyes.. but honestly theres not that much a difference between the two rather than interior quality. Both are going to be pushing some nice performance in the coming years and both come from reputable companies. You really cant go wrong with either, one but price.

That kid is freaking me out man. Take it away! Take it away!

was the dashboard material the same on both?

personally, the more i look at the BRZ the more I want an FR-S...simply because the front end on the BRZ looks like a total after thought (which it probably was considering Subaru had few options once they got the design back from Toyota). doesn't matter who's car it is (Toyota/Subaru), took both to make it happen. I just know which design I'm attracted to more. aside from that a good chunk of the BRZers I've personally spoken with have said they're going to put an FR-S/86 front end on their BRZ. tells you something.

For me, the fr-s gives me more options to work with the car. I will be replacing many things out of it anyway so why pay. As for seats, I wouldn't go with stock seats if I will be buying another set to replace the cloth seats it comes with. I've got my eyes set on a pair of carbon fiber ones.

It's simple really - FR-S is more youthful/aggressive; BRZ more sedate, laid-back, subtle (except for that dental dam thingy). You'd expect the BRZ to attract a more "mature" buyer, like a Camry V6 driver.

Underneath they're both the same. The differential prices between FR-S and BRZ premium are so small that I can't even fathom people making a big deal over which one to get. When the discussion moves to FR-S vs. BRZ Limited, there's absolutely only one choice if you desire a more luxurious interior; consequently the price discussion should only be a factor in this specific comparison. Weight between Premium and Limited is insignificant at ~14lbs. That leads me to believe the difference in weight between BRZ and FR-S is also going to insignificant. Regardless of how people attempt to compare the two and rationalize which one they're going to (allegedly) buy, it comes down to personal preference in aesthetic. They will both perform the same and parts between the two - outside of exterior aesthetic pieces - will be completely interchangeable. I'll be the first to admit that I initially pined for the BRZ because it sports a Pleiades badge, my chosen brand. Beyond that, only the Subaru offers HID optics; I refuse to buy a new car in this decade that has halogen optics. I even think that the difference in perceived interior quality is just that: perceived. We all like the same car here folks: they are twins. One has blonde hair and the other's a brunette; everybody likes something different. Beyond the few differences in available accouterments all differences are perceived and inconsequential. |
i agree with most of you...I really like the BRZ cause it has so many other options...but starting to like the FRS cause of the youth of it....but OOOOHH well sticking with my BRZ lol

If the FR-S had World Rally Blue paint as an option I'd be very indecisive right now. But it doesn't... so I'm not. :)
