SWP or CBS?

Which do you prefer? I've been pretty set on getting the SWP, but after swinging by the dealer again over this weekend...the BRZ just looks awesome in Black.

I'd absolutely love the car in black, but not only can you see every scratch/dent, being in PDX it's going to look filthy every time it rains. White handles scratches and such better, but I just can't decide.

Help me make up my mind! :mad0259:

Love black but I swore to never buy another one ten years ago when I bought a black G35 coupe. I've gone with white on every vehicle purchased since.

If you like the murdered out look (black rims, dark tint, black everything) then go black. If you like the contrast look (black/white) then go SWP. They will both get dirty, and it shows on my SWP as well.

I think if you are planning to mod your car, SWP is more versatile in regards to color theme choices. Black seems like only one way, unless you get some crazy vinyl theme design.

I have a SWP and although black looks good on any car when it's new, the maintenance to keep it looking like new is too much of a PITA for me.

Could you expand on this a little? Just from rocks, scratches, etc?

swirls lots of swirls...I have a few chips on the hood/front but that is expected in general the black is really bad if you don't get an extra clear coat or clear bra of which I have neither

Good to know. Thanks.

Would getting it Opti-Coated help avoid the swirls and chips? How much does Opti-Coating the entire car usually cost?

What wash method are you using? I'd hope you're using the two bucket method to rinse this dirt off the mitt before putting it back on the paint. It won't completely eliminate the possibility of swirls but will definitely help. Also, don't run the mitt in circles but rather in lines that flow with the car.

doing two bucket with lines but still getting swirls...also I tend to not wash it as often as I should cause of rain

I have the SWP/whiteout and I love it. My family has always gotten silver cars and my last car (RSX) was silver too. It got totaled though, and I didn't want to get another silver car as a reminder... And my friend pointed out that because the car is so small it would be harder for those huge cars to see us. (At the time he was trying to convince me to get the Hot Lava... yeah no thanks.)

It gets dirty fairly quickly in the rain, but mostly just from pine needles/leaves/other larger debris. I don't think it's ever gotten so dirty that people would wonder if I ever washed the car... even if it wasn't washed for a couple months. Yeah, I let it go that long without a wash... lol

I have the whiteout and wish I would have bought it in Red.

I wash it by hand like 2 to 3 times a week when im driving it, and I imagine you will too, so just buy what you want and put in the elbow work to keep your ride looking perfect.
