Car "Clicks" When Weight is Transferred Back and Forward
 

So I just put on Gram Light 57Xtreme's, 18x8.5+33, 225/40 in the front and 18x9.5+40, 255/35 in the rear. The rears are spaced out +15mm. The suspension is completely stock, thanks to the gov't shutdown and not getting my bonus. After I put them on, I noticed a clicking sound from the rear, under the car during any kind of sudden weight transfer forward and aft, like a hard acceleration or sudden downshift. Tried all combinations of spacers, stock wheels and Gram Lights, but to no avail, the clicking remains. Not sure if it's the suspension or the diff, has anybpdy else ad this problem or is able to shed some light? I also checked that the springs were seated properly at the recommendation of one of my friends, but they are. Open to any suggestions...

I get the same "clunk" and you can feel something is settling. Typically it is most evident after you come to s top and release the brakes. I've torn everything apart and not been able to figure out what it is either.

My first thought was a loose wheel, but it sounds like the sound has persisted between wheel changes.

Next I'd check and make sure all brake parts are tight and where they belong (caliper guide pin bolts, and caliper bracket bolts). Otherwise, it could be an axle or a diff, but that's where I'd check last.

Many people on these forums have advised that this noise is Axle related

I know this may sound silly, but Ive had this happen before and it was because I forgot to torque one nut down on one wheel. Id hit your wheels with a torque wrench incase you missed one.

it will be the axle nut, take the center cap off a wheel and look at the factory "dimple" in the sleeve at the outside of the nut, if it isn't centered on the shaft anymore you have found your culprit...had the same issue, I hit it with an impact gun until the dimple moved to the other side of the groove in the shaft and haven't had any issues since.

Check axle nut first, and then the axle itself.

Im getting the same thing since i installed my rce springs. Glad this thread is here.

Put my car in neutral and moved it back-n-forth - only thing I hear is clunking what the driveshaft play. There was a thread showing how much it actually moves (rotates) until locking. Maybe that's what you hear?
