Kumho Ecsta 4x
does anyone have experience with this? Should I skip these and get Hankook v12? I'm looking for DD friendly.

I have them on my WRX. They are decent, but you can do better. They are a good choice when you want well-performing tires but want to spend very little money.
The next tires a I get will not be 4x-es, because I think spending more for better grip is a good tradeoff. |

I've run both, just on two different cars. I ran the V12's on my M3. Great DD tire, sticky, but I only got a year or so out of the set. Kumho's I can really give a very fair review as I had them on my cobra. They lasted longer than the V12's, but I didn't feel that they really gripped all that well (then again, they were on a 500 horsepower car).
My opinion, on a car like this, sacrifice a little bit of life for better grip. I've heard (never had experience) that the V12's chunk like that stock tires if you try to track with them, but if you are just DDing with them, that would be my choice. |
v12s were great when new on my GTI but after a year they kept hydroplaning like mofos... so I will never buy them again.
