Orlando Area - Good hotel to stay with girlfriend?

I'm thinking of taking my girlfriend to tour The Venus Project in December, so I'm also considering spending two nights in a hotel in the Orlando/Kissimmee area. As you all know, there are a ridiculous amount of hotels and resorts in the area. I'm not trying to do a family/Disney-type vacation, I just want a nice place to stay with my girlfriend. And by "place," I mean "room." I don't care about swimming pools or other amenities since we wouldn't use them anyway.

I don't want to go south of Venus, so I'd like for it to be relatively towards the center of the state. Pretty much anywhere in this awesome red circle would be fine.

Wife and I stayed in a Best Western right by Sea World when we spent the night after the 86 mega meet. It was fine for us. 75 a night iirc for a queen size bed room. We considered the doubletree across the street but realized it was overkill as we really only wanted a place to crash. lol.

I realize I have a place to stay (friends place in Oviedo) if I ever decide to stay in that area again.

I'm willing to spend up to $300/night if I have to. I want something special.

@Anthony I happen to work at a hotel! I work at a Hilton by downtown Disney.. You can PM me with what dates you need and I'll see if I can hook you up.

How about a hotel at one of America's greatest racetracks overlooking the track:

Hmmm...

Not sure if I'd love that because I'd be at a track, or hate it because I'd be at a track without my bike. That's badass either way.

Shoot, we've got a really nice pad & can put you up for 2 nights AND serve breakfast in bed for $300/night! lol

The Grand Bohemian in downtown Orlando is pretty nice, you can walk out and go to bars/restaurants, the bar in the hotel is pretty nice, kind of upscale jazz bar.

Also W Hotels should have the "A Loft" hotel in downtown (right near the Grand Bohemian) opening up at the end of October, and I am sure that will be pretty nice as well.

We just stayed at a very nice place this past weekend for the Mega Meet.
Called, Extra Holidays Star Island Resort. 5000 avenue of the stars Kissimmee, FL. Was very nice, $108 - $140 a night. It's off season so the prices shouldn't be bad at all.

Sent from SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE. KEEP CALM AND CHIVE ON.

i like the Grand Bohemian or the Peabody when i'm feeling spendy.

Thanks, guys. Another reason I wanted to stay in Orlando is because I've been talking to a guy in that area that's selling some tools I'm interested in. Shipping would be possible, but expensive. However, he just informed me that he's moving 4 hours south today. Either way, Orlando is on the way to Venus, so it still wouldn't be out of the way.

I'm about to look into the Grand Bohemian though.

Alright, so I checked out the Grand Bohemian and the Peabody, which is no longer called Peabody by the way, but Hyatt. I think I'm leaning towards the Bohemian, but also waiting to see if Enraged21 can hook a brother up.

I am sometimes for business in orlando and I like the Comfort Inn Orlando on 8686 Palm Pkwy. You can get a room for $70/night. If its too expensive for you try this site http://orlando.hotelscheap.org/ . You find lots of hotels in Orlando.
