Perrin 3" catback nonresonated

Hey guys just got my FR-S last weekend :D looking into putting a catback exhaust on asap. Currently looking for some Perrin 3" catback nonresonated sound clips! Would leave the rest stock more than likely since i live in CA. Years down the line i may do some FI and from what ive heard 3" sounds better tryna get that low rumble

thanks for the help in advance!

Hey Dustin, no one has replied because we don't have an unresonated 3", sorry! We do this because it would be really loud being unresonated. The 3" resonated with the factory front pipe sounds really deep, a little on the loud side. Thanks!

ah man my fault! would you say the 2.5" nonresonated is louder than the 3" resonated? I'm looking for the perrin clean rumble but i dont mind loud at all :)

thanks for the reply Chris look forward to ordering from you guys in near future!

A 3" non resonated would make everyone cry. For the sake of my ears and everyone else's, please use resonators! It will still be pretty loud.

The 3" resonated is pretty much the same as the 2.5 unresonated. That's the best way I could describe it. You're welcome!

This might give you a better idea.

Does this mean the NA power gains are about the same but FI owners will see even bigger gains with the 3"? I'm planning to get the full Perrin header back setup, but I'm not sure if I'm going to need 3" if I'm only shooting for 250whp supercharged.

There actually is more of a power gain with the 3" catback compared to the 2.5", even when the car is NA.

If you are looking to get the Vortech, and were concerned about sound, I'd just go with the resonated 2.5", since the Vortech can do 250WHP easily, and it'd be pretty quiet with the 2.5" resonated.

3" is more for turbocharging rather than supercharging. Focus on a good header/overpipe/frontpipe for a supercharger build. I love the 3" exhaust on NA though but I do like my exhaust systems loud, but refined.

Dustn1frs I noticed your location says San Diego. How close are you to the IE? I have the Perrin 3" resonated on my BRZ with everything else stock if you want to hear it in person. I will be at Adam's Motorsports Park tomorrow for the Time Attack Tuesday.

I love the sound of it, it's not as loud as I'm used to (I had a WRX with Element tuning's turboback before this) but it's not quiet.

He may be stopping by to hear mine tomorrow.

Hey guys, I'm sorry, I messed up, we actually do sell a 3" unresonated exhaust, we just added it. I would recommend the resonated in most cases though, since it will keep the noise down. But the 3" unresonated will give the most performance since it's going to be lighter.
