Cruise Control Warranty work?

So i have posted before, my cruise will not work over 69mph. As most have noted, it will work on their cars faster. Not sure why mine wont work. So i want to take it in to the dealer to have them look at it. Doe anyone have a good understanding of what the cruise control consists of?

Like is there a module or something that could have been broke/replaced? The reason i ask, i am tuned and turbo'ed, etc...if its all ecu controlled, i have a feeling they will blame it on my tune. And not cover it. Of course if it really is ecu controlled, and my tune did mess it up, would my tuner be able to fix it as well?

I asked my tuner and he look and said there is no options for any cruise control limits, etc.. in the ECUtek software.

Of course my other problem is that i would guess that the dealer will need to testdrive over 69 to see that it doesnt work correct? I would really rather they dont do that, or at least let me ride along/drive when they do.

Any long drives around colorado and the limit is 75mph... so really sucks to have to actually be on the pedal for like 2 hours straight.

Thoughts?

Call the dealer and talk to someone, be honest about it. I spoke with my local dealer and was pleasantly surprised they were willing to help me even turboed. Of course, your case is a little different because you have a flash and that can directly affect CC....

The cruise control is all done in the ECU. You might want to try just reflashing in case something went wrong when you flashed the car.

He's got a turbo, I have a hunch flashing back to stock may do more harm than good.

I agree though, it's probably the tune.

To be more clear, reflash your current tune, and/or get a new copy of it from your tuner.

I have multiple tunes from him, and they all do not allow cruise control. Problem is i have a couple of the canned tunes from AVO, but they are on the 91octane gas, and I am running e-85.

I think i can empty the e-85 out, put in 91 and then flash the avo base tune and try it?

Thoughts?

just a side question about CC, can you remove the stalk from the steering wheel?

Did you adjust your clutch pedal? I bet you have it too low and the switch isn't contacting the clutch pedal enough or it's intermittent.

You can run E85 on a 91/93 map. The Caveat and REALLY IMPORTANT thing is to not NEVER go WOT. You can cruise, light throttle, and never get into boost using E85 and a pump gas tune.

I ran through 2 tanks of E85 to make sure tank was completely E85 and no 93 was left on it all with a 93 oct map, never going into boost just cruising around up to 90 mph. As long as the car is in closed loop (no WOT), its ok.

I would love to be able to send you my E85 tune for you to try it out but we all know what ECUtek has to say about this... EFF YOU :D

Haha, yeah wish you could that would be great to compare.

If thats the case, then maybe i will just try to reflash the AVO 91 tune. Poke along and get on the highway, try to cruise at over 69 and see if the cruise works. If it does, then at least i know its the tune.

I did, but i dont think its this, as i can go up to 69 and use cc. And it always works...just not over 69

The cruise control logic, including speed thresholds, requested torque compensation, and a host of other parameters are all control by the ECU. They have been pulled out on the STI's, WRX's and other models, so I can likely also find them on the BRZ rom. But that's on opensource, I'm not sure whether you could edit an ECUtek's rom with other platforms.

Sound like the base rom they used is from another region and the tables to fix cc are not defined.
