Website Dev Project

So I have a final project due in about a week where I need to make my own website from scratch using HTML/CSS and maybe a little bit of Javascript.

I have no idea on what I should do it on and I am open to suggestions.
Something not to complex.

What are the requirements?

Enraged21 10-09-2013 10:22 AM

Assignment Criteria

There are two main types of web site: sites for personal use and sites for business use. This project involves you creating a multi-page web site for either personal or business use. If you create a site for business use, you may not include any graphics or information about an established business without the express permission from that business (hint: prepare a site for your own business or a fictitious business).

The main page (which users see first when visiting your web site) must be well-designed and attractive to the user will want to stay there. Main pages that are generally "boring" cause users to drift away from your site. Use appropriate colors, fonts, and backgrounds on this page. This page should include a general description of your web site, as well as what the user can expect to find on your site.

Your project should incorporate in some fashion the following:
  1. Images and other multimedia components where appropriate - make sure they support your Web site! Include a not on where you got the images if you did not create them.
  2. Include tables where appropriate - you have to have at least 2 tables.
  3. Use cascading styles sheets to enhance the look and feel of your web site. Use an external style sheet to define the color scheme of your site. You should link to this external style sheet from more than half of your pages.
  4. Create a new page on your web site that will act as a feedback form. Upon completing this form, web site users will be able to submit the results to your email address (using the action="mailto:youremailaddress" attribute in the form tag). This form should include text boxes, a textarea, radio buttons, check boxes, a selection list, a submit button, and a reset button.
  5. Your website should be a collection of several pages - as many as needed for your topic (think quality more than quantity).

No. Just submitted to my professor. Will be hosted on FileZilla under my student account though. I can always give credit where due.

Well, here's an idea...

I haven't updated my website in over a year anyway, so if you want, feel free to rip the whole thing and start over from scratch:

www.primemoverphotography.com

I hereby give you permission to use all of the content. So there. All the photos are watermarked anyway, so no need to cite your source or anything.

Make 4chan.

Haha no, not really. I don't like javascript and all that other fancy stuff. I like plain ol' 90's-ass HTML. Every website I've ever made has pretty much been a "mobile" site. Even back before phones were accessing the net. I just hate heavy, complex, slow-loading websites.

Although if you make something real badass, I may consider it.

@Anthony so I think I'm going to take on the challenge and somewhat redo your website.
It's probably going to be a simpler version of it but it will look cleaned up. Do you have anything in particular you'd like to keep?
The main page will try to have a slideshow of a few images you have taken. The news feed will be completely taken out to look more professional. Will add more "pop" color where needed.
Will be updating the contacts page. Instead of links for your facebook and myspace, it'll have the facebook and myspace logo to click on that'll open the page in a new tab.
Gallery will probably remain the same.
Pricing page I will put in an order form for users to enter to get a quote.

One thing that annoyed my was the navigation list was not consistent. If I clicked on a link, I'd have to click back to click on another link. I'll fix that too lol.
