Welcome!!

MizzKiMi 10-15-2013 12:45 PM

Nice! Are ppl bring walkie talkies?

phanguy 10-15-2013 01:08 PM

quick amazon search shows these as decently cheap but kinda meh talkies:

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Midland-LXT118-22-Channel-18-Mile-Channel/dp/B007B5ZNV8/ref=sr_1_16?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1381853002&s r=1-16&keywords=walkie+talkies"]Amazon.com: Midland LXT118 22-Channel GMRS with 18-Mile Range, E Vox, and Channel Scan (Pair): Electronics[/ame]

or a more expensive, but seemingly higher quality talkie:
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-MH230R-23-Mile-22-Channel-Two-Way/dp/B001UE6MIO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1381853002&sr =1-1&keywords=walkie+talkies"]Amazon.com: Motorola MH230R 23-Mile Range 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio (Pair): Electronics[/ame]

i don't have one myself, but it's not the worst idea to have a few of these floating around.

still on the fence about going to the event. also, event page says it starts at 9am, so will the South-Bay crew roll in late? lol

side note: isn't that lot kinda small to accommodate everyone? i would think the lot on the opposite end near Big-5/Old Mervyn's has more space, but no coffee?

you should totally come! ;) i think the lot is a bit small for sure but on a Saturday morning (given that diner across from starbuck is close for good) it might be big enough for everyone :)

I'll check with my optometrist office to see if I can get my glasses earlier. I'll be riding solo though, I have no friends. :bellyroll:

lol, I'll be fine. I have prescription sunglasses, those will hold me until the event is over. I also have an older pair of clear lenses at night, so I'll be good. Otherwise, @MizzKiMi is gonna have to drive me home.

Are we gonna have any chase cars equipped with GoPro's?

I volunteer to use mine, but I dont have a GoPro, and I'm terrible at editing videos. We had these during the Bimmers & Boardwalk/ECFest caravans, kinda cool.

No one should be racing, I repeat, NO ONE. It only takes one ass-hat to ruin it for everyone. And it sucks when the caravan has to pull over because someone blew something up, so let's try to get there altogether.

lol that happened to us during our vegas caravan for 86expo. i blew my turbo oil lines and the caravan had to stop in the middle of bakersfield at 2:00AM.

lol memories! :bonk:

We had to pull over because my buddy's M5 was going into limp-mode on the way down to SLO, he had to get it towed down to SLO, then back up to San Jose. On the way back up, another M5 was in and out of limp-mode. BMW's are problematic....glad I got rid of my 545.

monkeedoo 10-16-2013 05:56 PM

so you're saying we're not going to cannon ball run on the way there? $50 dollar buy in winner take all

Fortunate for you, the older ones are solid. The E60 M5's, fast as hell, but plagued with problems. I was dumb and purchased an '04 545i, first gen/first year, unknowingly aware they were running the N62 engines from the 7-series. If you know BMW, you know how chaotic the N62's are. Oil leak, coolant leak, everything leaked. I'll never go back to an E60 again unless it's an LCI, '07+.
