Supercharger install cost?

Just looking for a ballpark figure for an install cost and tune, looking to get an innovate supercharger put in soon. Any recommendations for a shop in the South Carolina area would also be nice.

It's a day's work to install, so either go by a typical hourly rate or agree a job price.

It depends on what labor rates run in your area and if you are having it tuned locally or remotely. The install should only take a few hours for the supercharger itself.

as others have said, it depends.

The biggest factors will be your shops hourly rates, and what kind of SC you decide to go with (an Innovate takes a good bit less time to install than a Vortech, for instance).

It is based of hourly rate just like youve seen above. Usually a higher rate because it is moreorless considered custom. Regualar maintanence in my area is about $75 an hour, custom or high liability can be up to 120-150 a hour. In my shop I usually do not go by hourly rate and moreorless just agree on a price. Of course there are a lot more factors then just the install because most smart shops will do a break in on the car just to keep boneheads from getting in the car and driving it like they stole it without a decent breakin. Also are you doing clutch, injectors, fuel pump. all these play in to price as most ppl dont know doing the clutch calls for 8 hrs. Price can get high and thats why I dont do hourly on FI builds unless its on a higher end car. So back to your question to just slap a supercharger on you could be looking at anywhere from 500-900 depending on your local rates.

The Innovate/Sprintex kit isn't exactly rocket science to install. No special tools required.

Look up the book hours for removing the intake manifold and then add one or two hours and multiply by the shop of your choice's per hour charge. If you have any friends with tools and mechanical abilities, I would utilize them and do it yourself. If you don't, make new friends. I would make the drive to someone familiar with EcuTek and tuning these cars and then the cost will be ~$400 plus dyno time should you want a dyno tune.

I've heard about $300-500 from people. I did it myself. Needed wrench turning experience 6/10.

correction. I installed it myself with my friend, but we did have @JuniorAWD do the tuning there. Everything else they've installed, because I don't have a lift.

Shift Fast is still a great shop though. They definately do know what they're doing, and have learned most of what they know about these cars from working on mine. They're based in Rock Hill, and they've got some great dudes working there.

the biggest plus of the innovate kit is how easy it is supposed to be to install. i'd do it at home, shouldn't even need to raise the car if the internet is to be believed.

Supercharger takes about 1 day at most. If you are doing a clutch and fuel system that would be another day. Shops charge about 100-200 on hours that would be the ball park. Sorry didnt see you were in South Carolina
