Classifieds rules
Can we apply and enforce some basic classified rule?
Like post a pic of what you are selling with a piece of paper that has your user name and date and name of forums you are listing the product on? Requiring a little effort would help a lot IMO. |

acutally if we can establish a system where we truth-check people before they even get to make a post, then it will never have to get to PayPal.
in today's world, if you can't take a picture of something and then post it, you should apologize to all the trees around you and go drown in a lake. |
I agree. on my old forum to sell anything you had to have 100+ posts, a pic of the item and a pic with the item and a paper with your username in it. I guess it's easier to sell shit without doing that but its just as easy to sell somthing I don't actually have.

I don't think you need a post minimum, but if you have only 2 posts and you're selling wheels in 5X100 pattern from your VW, then you shouldn't really be here.

We don't need no stinkin' rules!
And I already proposed a set of rules in the mods forum. We will see where it goes. |

One board I used to frequent had a 30 post minimum. That was enough where it was obvious if someone was just posting/spamming to get to that limit but low enough where you could reach it without trying if you were a contributing member.
Other forums I've been a member of required 100+ posts and although I was active I never reached enough posts to actually buy or sell there. Seemed a bit extreme. I'd suggest 25-30 post minimum. |
How is this.
Classified Rules For Sale Thread 1. Product name 2. Description/condition and mileage (if applicable) 3. Photo of product with forum name and date written on paper 4. Price Classified Forum Conduct 1. If the item is sold please post in thread it is sold. 2. 1 bump per 24 hours, please use PM to discuss sale with interested users. 3. Classifieds threads are not for discussing products or price. Please do not respond with "overpriced", "xyz item is better", etc. |
The truck forum I was on before I got the BRZ had similar rules. Now they implemented where a moderator has to approve the for sale thread before it will be live on the site. It used to be they required 30 posts before you could post when I was a moderator on that truck forum. I realize y'all won't use these, but just showing it was similar rules. There was always people trying to just join and post a for sale thread. I left the site name below so you could see where I got it from.
It helps a lot though and prevents what has seems to have been happening more often now. Quote:
