Nameless or HKS front pipe?
I am looking for a front pipe to keep my exhaust note as tame as possible. Would I be better off with a high flow cat and helmholtz (as with the nameless), or two in line resonators (as with the HKS)?

Nameless. You get the overpipe piece with it. Its by far the best designed front pipe on the market with custom options.

Thanks for the plug. Trying to consider noise as the primary issue at this point. I do prefer the nameless from a design point. I just don't know enough about resonators to know which will keep the noise/rasp to a minimum.

Rasp is caused by the thickness of the metal and flow of exhaust gas through the exhaust. The H-resonators won't do anything for rasp, they are there to fix or attenuate exhaust drone. Best way to reduce rasp would be wrapping it up in exhaust header wrap near the Y section.
I personally have used the HKS dual in-line front pipe with resonators, that was slightly louder than my MOTIV *CATTED* front pipe(which is slightly quieter now). Haven't had any experience with Nameless as I'm situated in Australia, and freight is a bitch of $$$ and even then when emailing the company a year ago, they would not ship it out. |

^^^we'll see as nameless hasn't been good at bringing stuff to market lately.

If you get the Nameless front pipe with the cat, and you retain the stock manifold, you wont need the helmholtz resonator. I don't get any drone with my Nameless catted front pipe/axleback system. Others report the same.
This combo is how the exhaust should have sounded from the factory. |

Apart from HKS and Nameless are there anyone else making a DP with a resonator? |

I have the Nameless Catted Helmholtz Equipped Pipe.
It fixed the rasp that the Perrin Catted Front Pipe couldn't. My Signature has the exhaust system details. |
