Street price on this around what the preorder price was?

OmarGC 01-14-2014 07:08 PM

Pre order was around 3700 I believe

Lol you'll win! I won't get a fp/injectors and clutch for a while.

PRORICAN 01-14-2014 07:11 PM

Pre-order was $600 less than what it's posted on their site now.

utekineir 01-14-2014 07:11 PM

Yes I know, my question is how close the number vendors are actually selling them for is to the preorder amount.

Street price not map/retail price.

A bit less since some vendors offer free shipping and no tax. Talk to @FT-86 SpeedFactory they'll hook you up. I got mine from them.

Awesome. Thanks. Kinda figured that would be the case which is why I didn't preorder

Oops I meant less than what it's currently posted not the preorder amount. Mis read your post.

utekineir 01-14-2014 07:25 PM

Ah I'll wait then. Vortech and innovate for example have a pretty decent gap between msrp and what they can be bought for.

PRORICAN 01-16-2014 06:26 PM

Got my tracking # Should be here Tuesday! Have an appointment on Feb 7 for a dyno tune from @Kaizen Tuning

ExcelerateRep 01-17-2014 12:02 PM

So my KW kit finally came in, along with a few others lol. I'm just waiting on the Ecutek components so I can install it. Can't wait to get this installed! I'll post up some pics of the install once we start which should be soon I'm assuming. If anyone is interested, we still have a few of these bad boys left in stock.

Is everyone running the KW tune or did you guys go elsewhere for tuning? Performance wise I'm stock so I'm just going to run their tune for now. Any feedback on it?

digital_assassin 01-17-2014 05:31 PM

@PRORICAN & @ExcelerateRep - your added to the list. Install your kit and post the Dyno!

digital_assassin 01-17-2014 05:35 PM

Thought I'd mention I've really been beating on the car and there have been zero issues with the kit so far. Super happy! Track season is just around the corner where it will really get to see some abuse :). Us Pacific NW folk only see track time from March to October.

OmarGC 01-17-2014 05:46 PM

Have the even released the OTS map yet? @digital_assassin you'll probably be adding me to the list soon within 2 more Vortech belt snaps lol

digital_assassin 01-17-2014 06:00 PM

What are you refering to with OTS map @OmarGC?

Kw's basemap. Sold with their system with tuning...

digital_assassin 01-17-2014 07:01 PM

They have it if your referring to the one created by Bill @DeliciousTuning

digital_assassin 01-21-2014 09:07 PM

@PRORICAN - Install manual is on the first post of this thread.

Damn I can't read!!:bonk: Thanks for your help man! I just finished re-clocking the rotrex and it was easier than I thought. They're sending me the belt cover too. We're in the middle of a blizzard right now so I'll begin installation this weekend after the roads are cleaned off since I have to drive to the on-base auto hobby shop to do it.

OmarGC 01-22-2014 09:37 PM

Waiting for a response from KW on the kit with the 70mm upper pulley vs the standard 75mm upper pulley(standard in their mass distributed kit) before I submit my order.

Trying to compare how much boost it produces at 7200rpm vs the 75mm pulley designed to spin the rotrex to 7800rpm on their base maps. To me it's sounding like the 70mm is the route to go, I do not want to rev anywhere close to 7800. I have a long history with Subaru oil pumps in regards to cavitation.

Why not go with the C38, and use a larger pulley? This will give you future room to upgrade to more power when you eventually want it, without over spinning the C30 SC.

dren 01-23-2014 09:43 AM

Received my new belt cover, need to install it. I've been driving with snow/ice tires here and haven't had any issues on the ice. I've had to keep it around 2k rpm to keep the rear in check, though.

I love this kit, the power band is great. It is all you need from 2.5k to about 4k rpms. Then if you really want to have fun, you have that last 3.5k!

kroyoftheempire 01-23-2014 04:04 PM

who here is running the c38 compressor? any pic of that setup?

:w00t:

Looking forward to seeing how this kit performs on our XLR8 BRZ. We've had great experience with the Kraftwerks kits with the Civic, S2000 and Miata platform so the FT86 platform should perform well too. Thanks for the feedback.

Not overly concerned. Should be able to make a little more then 350whp out the c30. Won't really need/want more. I have a 550whp+ sub 2500lb rwd coupe already.

Also guys, just for reference the 70mm pulley produces approx. 12.5psi vs 9.5ish stock 75mm pulley.

OmarGC 01-23-2014 08:41 PM

Of course your boost may vary due to exhaust restrictions/rpm range.

Are any of these recent Kraftwerks designs that use the cogged belt?

Are you trying to instill doubt in a cogged belt? I'm pretty sure you know the answer to your question.

I'm more interested in knowing if they've finished development on their S2000 kit. Calm down.

PRORICAN 01-26-2014 02:04 PM

Finished the install last night! Thanks to @digital_assassin for the helpful tips, @FT-86 SpeedFactory for the great deal and fast shipping, @KraftWerks for designing the kit, and @DeliciousTuning for the basemap!

Here's a pic from last night. Still need to install the bumper but I'm debating whether or not to remove the grill and expose the intercooler for that "bling" factor. I still haven't really ran it hard since it decided to snow last night but I took an easy ride around base and everything seems fine so far. Also didn't realize how loud the whine is but I like it! Lol

digital_assassin 01-26-2014 02:53 PM

The whine is going to be tamed once you get your new pulleys. Night and day difference. Whine is still present when driven hard though :)

grostoine 01-26-2014 03:03 PM

Your new pulleys? You a re talking about the 70 pulley ?Or we are suppoosed to get new pulley to quiet down the system a bit?

digital_assassin 01-26-2014 03:27 PM

Idler pulleys with teeth

grostoine 01-26-2014 04:40 PM

So Kraftwerks is going to send us teethed idler pulley?

PRORICAN 01-26-2014 06:04 PM

Installed the bumper and dremeled out the grill!

Still waiting on clean dry roads to hoon a bit and get some datalogs.

qtwre 01-26-2014 06:20 PM

Question for you owners. Do you find the feel of the car changes at all during regular driving after installing this kit?

Sometimes installing a supercharger can cause a car to decelerate harder when you let off the gas, making the feel a bit more twitchy/jumpy during normal city driving.

DeliciousTuning 01-26-2014 07:08 PM

We are currently working on some new Beta maps for the Kraftwerks kits using full Speed Density and they should be quite a bit better when the latest revision is released.

Cheers,
William Knose
